Her specialty is acute care, both adult and pediatric. She has experience in emergency department, intensive care unit, post-anesthesia recovery, medical-surgical, and minor emergency clinics. Leaving the clinical side of nursing, Flo worked in the corporate world for over 23 years. Using her far-reaching clinical experience, she then entered the QI (quality improvement) arena, generating performance audits on HMOs administering the Texas Medicaid program. She has served as supervisor of quality assurance teams, and, designed, and implemented quality assurance programs. One that currently audits more than 200 employees each day. Flo is comprehensively trained in the rules and regulations of Title II Health Information Portability and Privacy Act (HIPAA), especially as it relates to the collection and dissemination of Private Health Information (PHI). She monitors and instructs our employees in adherence to all HIPAA procedures and guidelines.
